When A River Changes Its Course

Parker’s Box Gallery: After impressive contributions to a number of group exhibitions at Parker's Box, we are delighted to present John Bjerklie's first solo project at the gallery, for which the artist has the intention of involving numerous other parties to assist and monitor his "River" as it changes course and heads off into unchartered territory.

The Pomperaug River in Woodbury Connecticut: When A River Changes Its Course

Since 1972 erosive flooding on the Pomperaug River has tripled in frequency. As a result its course is changing at a rapid pace, radically altering the adjacent landscape. The exhibition entitled "When a River Changes Its Course" is based on an examination of the immediate aftermath of these now frequent floods.
